The Architecture of Beauty in Modern Multidisciplinary Dentistry
Abstract
Modern dentistry has evolved beyond treating individual teeth toward designing comprehensive, patient-centered rehabilitation. Today, predictable esthetic outcomes require the seamless integration of facial analysis, digital pre-visualization, orthodontic aligners, restorative dentistry, implant surgery, and prosthetic rehabilitation within a single digital ecosystem.
This lecture presents a contemporary multidisciplinary workflow that combines digital planning with biologically driven treatment concepts to enhance communication, increase predictability, and support minimally invasive clinical decision-making. Using real clinical cases, participants will discover how facially driven digital planning and pre-visualization improve patient engagement and interdisciplinary collaboration while optimizing both esthetic and functional outcomes.
The presentation also demonstrates how integrating exocad ART, exoplan, and digital smile planning enables clinicians to move efficiently from diagnosis to definitive rehabilitation through a prosthetically driven workflow. This reflects the interdisciplinary digital workflow presented by Prof. Marco Tallarico at exocad Insights 2026, focused on minimally invasive excellence through integrated digital planning.
Rather than viewing aligners, implant therapy, prosthodontics, and esthetic dentistry as separate disciplines, attendees will explore a unified treatment philosophy in which every clinical step contributes to the architecture of a predictable, functional, and natural smile.

Biography
Marco Tallarico, DDS, MSc, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery, Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Sassari, Italy. He serves as Director of OIC Europe and Co-Director of OIC Middle East, contributing to international education and research in implant and digital dentistry. Certified in Implant-Based Therapy by the European Association of Osseointegration (EAO), he received the Aesculapius Research Prize from the University of Florence in 2019 for his scientific contributions.
Dr. Tallarico is an active member of the IAO, DDS, EAO, and AIOM, with clinical and academic interests focused on implant dentistry, digital workflows, esthetic rehabilitation, and evidence-based clinical practice.
